Come to the Carnival! #HedFest16

Colourful carnivalCARNIVAL atmosphere ‘Rio de Janeiro style’ returns to Hedon during the Hedon Festival on SATURDAY 13 AUGUST 2016.

The carnival parade last year filled the streets of Hedon with colour, music and dancing as it snaked through the town centre streets. Hundreds took part in the carnival all dressed up to have fun, whilst perhaps thousands of people watched as spectators.

Flags and bannersThe appeal is now being made for people and groups to join this year’s parade. So whether you are part of an organised group – or just a group of carnival-loving friends – we want your involvement in the carnival.

This year, to whet those creative appetites, there is a theme to the carnival parade: Hedon – The Past, Present and Future of the place… so there’s time to get those thinking caps on and dream up your costumes and outfits to fit the theme.

Not got costumes or time to make them? There’ll be workshops held in Hedon on the morning of the carnival between 10am and 11am to make props and items for the parade.

The carnival parade will assemble at Market Hill/Ivy Lane, Hedon at 12 noon ready for ‘lift-off’ at 2pm.

You can just turn up on the day and take part – but it would be really useful if those groups taking part could complete the following:
