No #Hedfest17
During the Hull City of Culture year 2017, there will be no Hedon Festival taking place.
Hedon Town Council have released a statement about HEDFEST:
“In 2015 and 2016 the town enjoyed two fantastic music weekends with the first two HedFests. The festivals were very well supported by residents and the Town Council happily provided funding and a lot of organisational support from staff and councillors. So it is with some regret that the Town Council has decided not to go ahead with a third festival this year.
“Special thanks should go to David Thompson who was the driving force in getting the festivals from being just a bright idea to fruition as the biggest events in the town’s recent history. However, we have not been able to get the support of enough venues to be able to run the festival again this year.
“The Council will keep an open mind about a future HedFest if it is viable – it would be a shame to lose such a well supported event from our calendar.”
Cllr Steve Gallant – Chair of Finance & General Purposes, Hedon Town Council.

Really disappointed my son has played there with black delta movement and dead Hormones, we have really enjoyed both years, it can only bring Hedon village in the forefront especially when we are celebrating Hull City of Culture. So councilors please rethink as brings wealth to the local community.

Such a shame, if there is to be a hedfest in 2018 then on behalf of Big Al’s Hellfire Ukulele Club I can we’d definitely be interested in performing.
Regards.

That is a real disappointment. Just when Hedon is starting to get a bit of community spirit injected into it. Can you expand and what the problems are this year.
